What ECIP is

ECIP (Emergency Crisis Intervention Program) is the fast-track piece of LIHEAP for households facing a utility emergency — a 48-hour shutoff notice, an already-disconnected meter, or running out of propane or wood. How to apply (Nevada or Placer County)

Project GO, Inc. runs LIHEAP/ECIP locally.

• Call (888) 524-5705 and press 2 for Nevada County or 1 for Placer County.
• Tell the voicemail you have a shutoff notice or no fuel — ECIP cases are prioritized.
• A program assistant calls back, usually within 24–48 hours, and takes your application by phone.
• The mailbox caps at 40 calls per day; if full, try again after 9 a.m. the next morning.

Who qualifies

Same income limits as LIHEAP: household gross income at or below 60% of California's State Median Income (about $3,331/mo for one person, $6,407/mo for a family of four in 2026).
