⚠️ This $400 offer ends Tuesday, May 19, 2026. If you can't open an account in time, Wells Fargo has a follow-up $325 offer running through July 14, 2026 (same $1,000 deposit rule). Link is below.
What you get
$400 cash bonus, paid into your new account within 30 days after the 90-day qualifying period.
You must open the account from the Wells Fargo offer page (or with a banker, using the offer code emailed to you) by May 19, 2026.
Who qualifies
New Wells Fargo checking customers only.
You haven't received a Wells Fargo checking bonus in the last 12 months.
You're not a Wells Fargo employee.
You have a U.S. Taxpayer ID (SSN or ITIN). Form W-8 filers are not eligible.
How to apply (3 steps)
Open a new Everyday Checking account from the Wells Fargo offer page with at least $25 by May 19, 2026. Or open one at a Wells Fargo branch — but get the offer code emailed to you first and give it to the banker.
Deposit a total of $1,000+ in qualifying electronic deposits within 90 days of opening. Qualifying deposits include direct deposit (paycheck, Social Security, SSI, SSDI, CalWORKs, unemployment), instant payments (RTP/FedNow), or eligible debit-card credit-pushes.
Wait — Wells Fargo deposits the $400 within 30 days after the 90-day window ends. Keep the account open the whole time.
Common pitfalls
Transfers from your own accounts, mobile check deposits, Zelle, and branch/ATM cash deposits do NOT count toward the $1,000.
A $0 balance can get the account auto-closed, which voids the bonus. Keep at least a few dollars in it.
The $10 monthly fee will eat your bonus if you don't dodge it. Waive it by keeping $500 daily balance, getting $500/month in qualifying electronic deposits, being age 17-24, using a Wells Fargo Campus Card, or qualifying military direct deposit.
The $400 is taxable income — Wells Fargo will send a 1099-INT next January.
